Products with Impact | Typology Skincare Gems
Hey there, MWP Tribe!
I’m jazzed to share with you my foray into the skincare world. Living in Europe, I was always trying to scour the web to find my go-tos back in the U.S. Asking friends and family to bring the goods here was starting to be too much. After some digging and research about skincare brands that A) included skin palettes like mine and B) less toxic chemicals. I found Typology!

The brand is based in France, but it has a global presence with delivery in the U.S. as well. I’m not a heavy make-up gal, nor do I jump on all the latest skincare trends. Simple with positive results are what I look for in a brand. And Typology checked those boxes for me!
Why Typology became one of my go-to cosmetic lines in Europe
When I say โimpact,โ I donโt mean grand promises. I mean real, day-to-day impact. The kind you feel at 8 a.m. when your skin is a little dry, a little moody, and you still want to look put together.
For me, impact looks like this:
How it feels on my skin: No tightness, no sting, no weird film that makes me want to wash my face again. Comfort matters.
How easy it is to use daily: Iโm into clean girl makeup, but only if itโs practical. If a product needs five steps to behave, itโs not staying.
How it fits my values: I like a minimal routine that doesnโt push me into constant buying. I want fewer products that do their job well.
This is also why I keep circling back to Typology. The finish is that โskin-like finishโ I always chase, and itโs easy to buy in Europe, which sounds small until youโve tried to restock a favorite and realized shipping is a mess.
This routine tends to suit dry, normal, combo, and sensitive skin best (Iโm combo and can get reactive). If youโre very oily, you can still make it work; youโll use less and keep glow products strategic.
When I decide if something is worth it, I keep it boring and strict: I scan for strong fragrance, I avoid stacking harsh actives every day, and I patch test on my jaw or inner arm. If my skin complains, I listen.
What I look for in healthy skincare and makeup (simple, gentle, effective)
My checklist is pretty simple.
I want hydration and barrier support, but without a greasy feel. I want coverage that blurs redness and uneven tone, but still looks natural up close. And I need products that layer well, because pilling is my number-one mood killer.
I also know my triggers. Too much fragrance throws me off. Daily strong actives can make me look โglowyโ in the wrong way (hello, irritation shine). When I stick to gentle, steady products, my skin looks more even and calm, and makeup sits better.
How I keep it easy to shop and restock in Europe
If I canโt replace it easily, I donโt get attached. That rule saves me.
I look for clear labeling, simple shade guidance, and a routine that doesnโt send me hunting across five stores. I like when a brand makes it obvious what goes first, what goes next, and whatโs optional. Fewer steps, fewer surprises, less clutter in my bathroom cabinet.
My three Typology favorites and how they make my skin look great
These three are my โI want to look aliveโ set. Not heavy. Not fussy. Just reliable.
And Iโm not trying to look filtered. I want my freckles and skin texture to still show. I just want the tone to look calmer, and the finish to look healthy in normal daylight.
Typology Nourishing Moisturizer: my comfort step for soft, calm skin
This is the step that makes everything else behave.
The finish on me is plump and healthy, not shiny. My skin looks like itโs had water, not oil. It also makes my face feel cushioned, which matters when the weather swings or my skin feels touchy.
I use a pea-to-dime-size amount, warm it between my fingers, then press it in. I donโt rub hard. If Iโm dry around my nose or cheeks, I add a tiny extra tap in those spots.
When my skin barrier feels supported (less dryness, less โpaperโ feeling), makeup stops clinging to random patches. Itโs boring advice, but itโs true. A good base day starts here, and this is why I think of it as my nourishing moisturizer for glowing skin.
Typology Tinted Serum: sheer coverage that still looks like skin
If youโre looking for full coverage, this wonโt be your thing. If you want to even out tone without looking โdone,โ itโs a yes.
In my tinted serum review terms, hereโs what it covers well: mild redness, uneven tone, that tired-gray look that shows up in winter. Hereโs what it doesnโt: active breakouts, dark spots that need a real concealer, or heavy under-eye darkness.
I apply it with fingers most days. I start small, like one pump or less, then spread from the center of my face outward. If I need more, I add a thin second layer only where I actually need it (usually around my nose and chin). A damp sponge also works when I want it extra smooth.
In natural light, it looks like my skin just had a good week. It wears well for several hours on me, and it fades softly, not in weird patches. My best trick to keep it from settling is simple: moisturize first, keep layers light, and donโt overwork it once it sets.
Typology Glow Drops: the quick trick for that healthy glow
Glow drops can go wrong fast. I donโt want glitter. I want that โyou drink waterโ sheen.
These give me glow, not sparkle, as long as I use a tiny amount. I place it on the high points only: cheekbones, a touch on the bridge of my nose, and sometimes my brow bone. If Iโm wearing a sleeveless top, Iโll tap a little on my collarbone too.
I use them in two ways:
Mixed in: One small drop blended into moisturizer for all-over radiance (my favorite on dry days).
Tapped on top: After tinted serum, I tap it on with fingertips like a liquid highlighter (my go-to for quick polish).
If you get oily, use less and keep it high on the cheek, away from the center of your face. If youโre dry, mixing it into moisturizer gives a smoother, more even glow.
My simple daily routine using these three products (and how to tweak it for your skin)
This is my real-life routine. No 12-step energy.
In the morning, I want to look fresh and fast. At night, I keep it calm and gentle, and I donโt feel like I have to wear anything.
Skin type tweaks help a lot here. Dry skin usually needs a bit more moisturizer and maybe mixed-in glow drops. Oily skin does better with less product and glows only where you want lift. Combo skin (me) needs different amounts in different zones. Sensitive skin does best when you go slow, patch test, and donโt mix in new actives at the same time.
For the tinted serum shade, I keep it simple: test in daylight, choose your undertone as best you can, and pick one shade close to your skin. If youโre between shades, Iโd rather go slightly lighter than too deep, since itโs sheer.
And a quick reminder, patch test, and donโt stack strong active ingredients in the same routine if youโre not sure how your skin will react.
My morning order: moisturizer, tinted serum, then glow drops
- Moisturizer, then wait about 60 seconds.
- Tinted serum, then wait another minute.
- Glow drops, tapped on last.
My โless is moreโ rule: use thin layers and stop touching your face once it looks even. Thatโs how you keep the finish skin-like and avoid pilling.
Quick fixes if it looks too shiny, too dry, or starts to pill
When itโs not working, I donโt panic. I adjust.
- Use smaller amounts, especially with the tinted serum and glow drops.
- Press product in, donโt rub layers together.
- Set only the T-zone if you get shiny; leave cheeks alone.
- Add a touch more moisturizer on dry patches, then re-tap tinted serum lightly.
- Try fingers instead of a brush if you see pilling; brushes can over-move product.
Wrapping Up!
Typology is my favorite cosmetic line because it fits real life. Itโs gentle, easy to keep up with in Europe, and it gives me that healthy look without a complicated routine. These three Typology picks work together because they do different jobs, comfort first, then even tone, then add glow in a controlled way.
If youโre curious, try one product first and wear it for a week. Take before-and-after photos in natural light; the truth always shows there. Then tell me what you like best, dewy or more natural and quiet.
Ciao for now!
